Renaissance brought a seismic revolution to the world by rediscovering ancient Greek philosophy. The main perpetrators were the Medici in Italy. As you can imagine this wasn’t an easy process. Cosimo Medici would travel between countries in search of ancient scrolls. He did all this during his early teens. By the end of his adventure, he can probably be single handedly credited for lifting the world out of the dark ages. Here is his statue, in all his greatness, holding a scroll instead of sword.
